This course is a must.
If you are a Naturopathic physician and want to help your dedicated patients to heal at a deeper level this course is a must. Everyone now uses "healing the root cause" in marketing but most of it never gets to the root. This course will help you to go beyond the algorithms of allopathic and functional medicine and see the real root(s). Though Dr. Thom has a keen understanding for biotherapeutic drainage you do not have to be versed in that to benefit from this course. This course will give you what you need to assess your patient far beyond basic labs. This is the medicine that will transform the current medical system and begin to heal our communities.

The certification course was fantastic. Dr. Thom is one of the best teachers you could ever have. He is so understandable and explains everything so well. He has expertise in so many different areas, it is unbelievable... I recommend this course for anyone who wants to get to the heart of medicine... When I came to Biological Medicine, I was first contemplating between pursuing functional medicine and other modalities. But this practice resonated in my core… Biological Medicine has something that other practices like integrative or functional medicine don’t have: a unique combination of approaches that together mean a better standard of care.

Take Your Practice in a New Expansive Direction
This course is great for people who want to take their practice in a new expansive direction with the testing and the treatments. But [this course] also incorporates philosophy that looks at the person as a whole, gets to the causes of why patients are sick, and helps them heal. What is this course about?
Biological Medicine for Practitioners is for professionals working in the health and healthcare industries who wish to evolve their practice through the integration of Biological Medicine (BioMed). BioMed offers an innovative and holistic perspective on health and patient care as well as a range of diagnostic technologies and therapies not commonly utilized in conventional medicine. Through participation in all the online and in-person components of this course, attendees will gain foundational knowledge and understanding of biological medicine; well-rounded, hands-on experience with diagnostics and therapies; and the coaching support required to take patient care to the next level.

This course is for health and healthcare professionals including Naturopathic Doctors, Medical Doctors, Registered Nurses, Functional Medicine Doctors and Practitioners, Dentists, Dietitians, Therapists, Massage Therapists, Acupuncturists, Health Coaches, Biohackers, Nutritionists, Fitness Instructors, and others working in related capacities.

How much does this course cost?
The in-person certification course tuition is $2,600. The prerequisite course, Introduction to Biological Medicine (self-paced online) is $200. Want to bring a team member from your clinic or practice to the in-person training or enroll them in the virtual course? Additional team members are $1,500 or $1,250 respectively.

Are there any discounts available?

Can I receive Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit for this course?
No, at this time we do not offer Continuing Medical Education credit.

What does "certification" entail?
Participants who successfully complete all aspects of the Biological Medicine for Practitioners Certification Course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate recognizes that its holder has successfully completed this program and has acquired the knowledge and skills needed to integrate BioMed into their practice. A professional learning program, this Course is offered in order to improve practitioners’ knowledge and skill base. This certificate does not take the place of a medical license or similar credential required by a licensing or regulatory agency.

Do you offer hotel discounts for the in-person training?
Yes. We partner with the Holiday Inn North Airpark Hotel which is close to The Biomed Center in Scottsdale and offers complementary local Lyft services (within a 5-mile radius). You will be given a code for a group discount rate after registering for the course.

Lead Instructor
Dr. Dickson Thom
Dr. Dickson Thom, ND, DDS has over 50 years of medical experience as a clinician and teacher to doctors, students and the lay public in proven medical principles and business skills. He obtained his first post-doctoral degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1974 and his first Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the Ontario College of Naturopathic Medicine in Canada in 1986. In 1989, Dr. Thom completed a second degree from National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Thom is a former Dean of Naturopathic Medicine at NCNM where he was a full-time professor for over 25 years.
In 2009, he was awarded “The Vis Award” from the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians for his commitment to the Healing Power of Nature as demonstrated through his work, life, and community service, a prestigious honor.
Dr. Thom has lectured extensively for over 40 years throughout the world and has written and collaborated on many articles dealing with energy medicines and nutrition. Additionally, he has authored 5 books.
In addition to a long career as a professor, Dr. Thom has always maintained a private practice with a primary focus on chronic disease, autoimmune disease, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal problems, and endocrine disorders.
Today, he continues to practice biological medicine in Scottsdale, AZ.
